Since January 2007, Danyale Ellis has facilitated a monthly networking meeting for healthcare professionals. Those present have included community health center administrators, providers (physicians, dentists, physical therapists, nurses, etc.) and a variety of others that provide services to the health care industry, such as temporary services, information technology, training professionals, managed care company representatives, etc.  The overall goal of this group's monthly meeting is to give Chicagoland area healthcare professionals an opportunity to make new contacts, distribute business cards and facilitate ideas via a structured networking lunch.

The first networking session of 2010 will be held on Wednesday, January 27th and will focus on Social Networking.  Twitter and Facebook are growing as social media tools, but did you know that you can use them to network and build relationships? LinkedIn has members from all the Fortune 500 companies. There are 130,000 recruiters who used the platform. Marcie Harrison and Gordon Dymowski will share some key strategies and insights in how you can build your contact base through these platforms.

Marcie Harrison is president of The Harrison Group. Over the last 25 years, the firm has built its reputation on strategies that have helped clients solve marketing problems, build profitability and position in the marketplace. It has created award-winning programs for clients in foodservice, healthcare, cosmetology and small business. Marcie has a BA degree in journalism from the University of Wisconsin and a MBA in marketing from DePaul University.

Gordon Dymowski has over 10 years of experience in the non-profit sector in public health community mobilization, and currently serves as co-organizer of Chicago NetTuesday, a collaborative group involving non-profits, tech, and social media. In addition, Gordon currently works for Zocalo Group, a word-of-mouth marketing agency that helps companies drive recommendations through conversations on online channels. Gordon has a BS from Loyola University and an M.Ed from the Loyola School of Education.
